In 1998, Mr. Berger graduated from the University of Florida, College of Law with honors. He proudly served the people of the State of Florida as an Assistant State Attorney for 11 years, 8 years of which he served as a supervising attorney. In 2010, Mr. Berger opened his law practice, and since that time the Law Office of Jason D. Berger has proudly served the people of the Treasure Coast of Florida.
Through his experiences, Mr. Berger has garnered a tremendous amount of courtroom skills, management skills, people skills and problem-solving skills. He is committed to fighting for clients seeking a just outcome.
He has personally tried and/or supervised well over one hundred jury trials. His trial experience includes the most serious of cases, including wrongful death, first degree murder, DUI manslaughter and sex crimes.
In his family law, personal injury and estate planning practice, Mr. Berger has tempered his vast courtroom and trial experiences with his common sense and people skills, while remaining committed to serving his clients with the utmost diligence, professionalism and devotion as he did while serving the people of the State of Florida.
Mr. Berger has been honored with various distinguishing awards and/or achievements. In 2001, he was recognized by the Orange County Teen Court with the Thomas S. Kirk Founders Award. In 2005, he authored and generated the idea for Florida Statute 316.193(12), a statute which is committed to protecting Florida’s citizens from repeat DUI offenders. In 2008, he was one of three prosecutors in the State of Florida awarded the M.A.D.D. outstanding DUI prosecutor of the year award. Mr Berger also received the honor of serving as the Keynote Speaker at the 2013 Keiser University Port St. Lucie Campus Commencement Ceremony.
Mr. Berger believes in actively supporting his community. Mr. Berger has been appointed by the Governor to serve on the 19th Judicial Circuit Nominating Commission, he has been appointed by the Chief Judge for the United States Southern District of Florida to serve on the local Federal Judicial Nominating Commission and he has been appointed by the President of the Florida State Senate to serve on the State of Florida Commission on Ethics.
Mr. Berger has served as the Chair of the Nineteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission and he has served as the Chair of the Nineteenth Circuit Bar Grievance Committee (B). Mr. Berger has also served as a director/officer of multiple non-profit organizations, including the Martin County Bar Association, the Justice Major B. Harding American Inn of Court, the Port St. Lucie Police Foundation, Safe Space, Inc., and the YMCA of the Treasure Coast. Mr. Berger has also served as the President of the Hundred Club of St. Lucie County, the President of Martin County Healthy Start Coalition and the President of Leadership Martin County Alumni, Inc.
Currently, Mr. Berger serves as a Commissioner for the State of Florida Commission on Ethics. We also handle estate planning, wills, trust and probate administrations.
